Double Overtime Victory: Lakers Overcome LeBron James’ Absence with Anthony Davis and Austin Reaves’ Stellar Performance

Lakers Comeback from 19-Point Deficit, Defeat Bucks in Double OT Thriller without LeBron James

The Los Angeles Lakers pulled off an impressive double-overtime victory against the Milwaukee Bucks on Tuesday, without their star player LeBron James. The team was led by Anthony Davis and Austin Reaves in the 128-124 win, overcoming a 19-point deficit in the fourth quarter to force overtime.

Davis had a stellar performance, recording 34 points, 23 rebounds, four blocks, two steals, and two assists in a career-high 52 minutes of play. Reaves also had a remarkable game with a triple-double, contributing 29 points, 14 rebounds, and 10 assists. Both players played pivotal roles in leading the Lakers to victory. D’Angelo Russell also chipped in with 29 points and 12 assists.

In the fourth quarter, the trio of Davis, Reaves, and Russell scored all but two of the Lakers’ points, erasing a significant lead held by the Bucks. Despite Giannis Antetokounmpo’s struggles at the free-throw line ultimately hindering the Bucks as they lost control during second overtime.

Lillard finished with 27 points on 9-of-29 shooting from the field and 3-of-14 from beyond the arc. The Lakers’ victory marked their second win this month against Milwaukee without James – following a March 8 game where Russell scored 44 points – bringing their record to 6-4 without him.

Their resilience continued as they won their fourth straight game to bring their record to an impressive 40-32 while remaining ninth place in Western Conference standings – just two games behind Phoenix Suns for eighth spot. The team has proven they can compete against top teams in league despite missing out on James’ talent and leadership role on the court.

Overall, it was an inspiring display of talent and grit by Davis, Reaves
