Eagles and Giants: The NFC East Showdown of 2023

Chris Simms: NFC East Preview with Concerns about the Commanders

On the “Chris Simms Unbuttoned” podcast this week, Chris Simms discussed the NFC East for the upcoming season. Surprisingly, he hardly mentioned the Washington Commanders during his analysis. When the topic of Draft Kings over/under win totals for the Giants and Commanders came up, Simms expressed surprise that the Commanders were predicted to perform better than the Giants.

After briefly touching on the Commanders, Simms shifted his focus to discussing the other three division rivals. He expressed optimism about the Philadelphia Eagles, stating that they have a chip on their shoulder this offseason and predicting that they will outperform their 2023 team. Simms also mentioned that he believes that the Cowboys are a fringe playoff team in his opinion.

Despite his overall positive outlook on the Eagles and Cowboys, Simms still has a soft spot for his father’s former team, the New York Giants. He believes that they could be a strong long shot bet in the division and highlighted their potential wide receiver group. In fact, he and his co-host Ahmed Fareed agreed that Giants’ wide receiver group could outperform Cowboys’ group this season. They also discussed concerns about Cowboys’ offensive tackle positions.

In conclusion, Simms sees Eagles as being one of top teams in NFC East with Commanders possibly finishing last and Giants vying for second place with Cowboys following closely behind them.
