Hollidaysburg Tennis Team Defeats Altoona, While Central Baseball Scores a Dominant Victory over Penns Valley

On Tuesday, Hollidaysburg Area High School boys tennis team improved to 5-0 with a 3-2 victory over Altoona. Luke Mitchell of Altoona got a win in singles play and from its doubles team of Aiden Aiken and Avery Lanzendorfer. Meanwhile, Hollidaysburg earned singles wins from Garrett Bouchard and Michael Waibel as well as the doubles team of Alex Arbogast and Jacob Sidney.

In high school baseball, Central defeated Penns Valley 19-9 in six innings. Jay Hoenstine led the Dragon offense with three hits and four RBIs, while other contributors include Troy McNichol with three hits and three RBIs, Griffin Snowberger with three hits and two RBIs, and Britton Marko with two hits and three RBIs. The game saw multiple errors on both sides, but ultimately Central came out on top due to strong offensive performances.

Overall, Hollidaysburg remained undefeated with a 5-0 record while Altoona’s record dropped to 1-4 after the match. Both teams demonstrated their skill and determination in their respective sports through strong individual performances and overall team efforts.
