Hyundai Motor Group Achieves Triple Victory at 2024 World Car Awards

Hyundai Motor Group has once again proven its global leadership in electric vehicles with the Kia EV9 winning the 2024 World Car of the Year at the New York International Auto Show. The EV9 also took home the title of 2024 World Electric Vehicle, while the Hyundai IONIQ 5 N was awarded the 2024 World Performance Car. These victories showcase Hyundai’s technological excellence and commitment to providing consumers with cutting-edge electric vehicle options.

The Kia EV9’s success can be attributed to its innovative design, spacious seven-seat interior, and competitive price point. Built on Hyundai’s Electric Global Modular Platform (E-GMP), this is Kia’s first model to feature fourth-generation battery technology for enhanced performance. These recent wins continue Hyundai’s streak of success at the World Car Awards, with previous titles such as World Car of the Year and World Electric Vehicle going to models such as the IONIQ 5 and IONIQ 6. In addition, other Kia models like EV6 GT and Telluride have won awards in recent years, highlighting Hyundai’s diverse range of offerings in electric vehicles.
