Palestinian Diplomats Unite for Gaza’s Humanitarian Crisis: International Pressure on Israel Required for Permanent Peace

The Arab world embraces the UN decision as a crucial and vital advancement.

Hamas has emphasized the importance of freedom of movement for Palestinians and access to humanitarian needs in all areas of the Gaza Strip, including heavy equipment for clearing rubble. The terrorist organization called on the Security Council to pressure Israel to adhere to the resolution.

The Saudi Foreign Ministry welcomed the UN Security Council’s decision calling for an immediate cease-fire in Gaza during Ramadan, leading to a permanent cease-fire, the release of hostages, and increased humanitarian aid to civilians in the Strip. Saudi Arabia urged the international community to halt Israeli attacks on Gaza civilians, end their suffering, provide hope to the Palestinian people, and allow them to obtain their rights to live securely and establish a Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital.

Egypt also supported this call by emphasizing the need to stop bloodshed, prevent civilian losses, and allow humanitarian aid. The Egyptian Foreign Ministry called for an immediate implementation of this cease-fire and continued efforts with international and regional parties to resolve the crisis in Gaza. The Jordanian Foreign Ministry echoed these sentiments by urging Israel to comply with this resolution, protect civilians, and ensure uninterrupted humanitarian aid to all parts of the Strip. Jordan stressed that implementing this resolution was crucial for achieving a permanent cease-fire and protecting the two-state solution.

The Palestinian Foreign Ministry viewed this call as a step in the right direction towards ending aggression against their people, withdrawing Israeli forces from occupied territories, releasing captives held by Israel’s military actions and ensuring basic human rights are upheld for Palestinians living in Gaza. They believed that international efforts were necessary for these goals’ success while supporting efforts made by other nations who called out Israel’s actions towards civilians in Gaza.
