Partial Solar Eclipse in Miami: Celebrating the Wonders of the Universe at Frost Science

Join us at Frost Science for a partial solar eclipse viewing celebration

On April 8, 2024, a total solar eclipse will cast a shadow over a large portion of the United States along the path of totality. This eclipse will stretch from Texas in the south to Maine in the northeast, making it one of the most highly anticipated celestial events of the year.

While Miami will not be directly in the path of totality this time, the city will still experience a partial solar eclipse. The eclipse will begin at 1:47pm, with the peak occurring at 3:01pm when 45% of the sun will be obscured. The event will come to an end at 4:13pm.

To celebrate this special occasion, Frost Science is hosting a partial solar eclipse viewing party starting at noon on April 8. The museum, located on the waterfront, will offer special programming in the planetarium and throughout its galleries focusing on the science and history of eclipses.
