Protect Yourself From Shingles Complications: Two Vaccine Clinics in Hopewell Township Offer Convenient Opportunity for Residents

Health Department and Wegmans Partner to Host 2 Event

In a bid to protect adults from shingles and its complications, the Hopewell Township Health Department and Wegmans are collaborating to organize two shingles vaccine clinics at Pennington Borough Municipal Hall on April 17 and June 19, 2024. These clinics will offer an excellent opportunity for individuals aged 50 years and above to receive the recommended two doses of the shingles vaccine. Additionally, adults aged 19 years and older with weakened immune systems are advised to get two doses of the vaccine due to their increased risk.

The clinics will provide a convenient way for residents to access the vaccine, which is crucial in preventing shingles-related complications such as pneumonia, stroke, and blindness. It’s important to note that individuals who only receive one dose at these clinics will need to visit Wegmans or another local pharmacy to obtain their second shot.

Residents are encouraged to sign up for one or both vaccines at these clinics.
