The HEROES Program: Evaluating Community-Based Interventions to Improve Health Outcomes in Specific Geographic Areas

ARPA-H is looking for candidates to apply for the HEROES model to enhance community health

The Department of Health and Human Services’ Advanced Research Projects Agency (ARPA-H) has announced the launch of a draft solicitation for the Health Care Rewards to Achieve Improved Outcomes (HEROES) program. This program aims to evaluate a new payment model that motivates community-based interventions to improve health outcomes in a specific geographic area. The agency plans to release a final solicitation by April 22, with interested applicants required to submit abstracts by June 17.

Under the HEROES program, participating entities such as non-profit organizations and consortiums will receive direct payments to tackle and reduce specific health harms within their designated area. This initiative encourages collaboration and creativity in healthcare delivery, with the ultimate goal of improving the well-being of individuals in the community.

To learn more about the HEROES program, individuals are invited to attend upcoming webinars scheduled for March 26 and April 2. These webinars will provide comprehensive information about the program, its objectives, and how interested parties can participate in this innovative initiative.
